"Well done! You've found the page devoted to the Patron of Vocaris Media, St. Gabriel the Archangel, the Annunciator'!"

“Gabriel” is a Hebrew word that means, “strength of God” and that the Church has given as a name to the messenger-spirit, who brought the glad tidings of the coming of our Divine Savior to the young woman, who would be the Mother of God.

For this reason, the holy Archangel, Gabriel, has for centuries been venerated as “the Annunciator”.

He is the patron of radio, the medium that Vocaris Media’s principal co-founder, Chris Altieri, grew up loving, and in which he spent a dozen years of his professional life as a journalist and editor.

St. Gabriel is especially venerated alongside the Archangel Michael (Captain of the celestial militia or “Prince of the Heavenly Host) and the Archangel Raphael (the Healer and Companion of Travellers).

At the beginning of their adventure, Chris and his wife Ester, along with the leading members of their small team, including web designer and creative consultant Topher Anderson of LifeSite Ministries LLC, decided to place Vocaris Media under St. Gabriel’s protection – especially their flagship podcast, Thinking with the Church, which seeks to place itself in the way of radio both in terms of its culture and its content.

Here is the prayer they propose daily to offer, and invite you to pray with them:

O FORTITUDO Dei, sancte Gabriel, qui virgini Mariae incarnationem unigeniti Filii Dei annuntiasti, laudo et veneror te, o electe Spiritus, et supplex oro, ut meus apud Iesum Christum, Salvatorem nostrum, et eius benedictam matrem advocatus esse, atque in omnibus angustiis me solari et corroborare velis, ne ullis unquam tentationibus superatus, Deum meum peccato offendam. Amen.

O STRENGTH of God, Saint Gabriel, thou who announcedst to the Virgin Mary the incarnation of the only-begotten Son of God, I praise thee and honor thee, O elect spirit. I humbly beg thee, with Jesus Christ our Savior and with His Blessed Mother, to be my advocate. I also pray that thou wouldst comfort me and strengthen me in all my difficulties, lest at any time I may be overcome by temptation and I might offend God by sinning. Amen.
